At 93 years old, Mildred is full of gratitude and new beginnings — and she says it’s all thanks to Neighborhood Healthcare’s PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly).
“PACE has allowed me to stay here and look forward to the future,” she shares. “It literally saved my life.”
A former educator with a dissertation and decades of ideas, Mildred hasn’t stopped learning or leading. Though she no longer stands in a classroom, she’s channeling her passion into Project Wellness — a lifelong initiative she dreamed of 50 years ago to support health and wellness from prenatal care through geriatrics. She envisions fashion shows, fundraisers, and grant projects that will continue helping others, just as PACE helped her.
“Since my brain is not any different than it was,” Mildred says with a smile, “I can do my project — and that makes me happy. Life is getting better.”
